Graduation invitations that do not look like a certificate

Graduation parties are usually organised by the person who has just spent a month on their finals, which is a good argument for something that takes twenty minutes. Choose a template, type four facts, send a link.

See the templates
  • Ready to send the same evening you decide to have one.
  • A schedule, for the ceremony-then-dinner shape these usually take.
  • Free, which matters more than usual at this particular moment.

Before you start

What to put on a graduation invitation

  • The graduate’s name, and the school or degree if you want it mentioned.
  • Whether guests are invited to the ceremony, the celebration afterwards, or both — list each in the schedule.
  • A venue and map link for each part.
  • A reply deadline: ceremony seats are often limited.

The templates

Three designs, each with its own palettes.

Not three colour schemes on one layout. Each template composes the page differently — where the photograph sits, how the names are set, whether the schedule is a list or a timeline.

  • Aurelia

    Formal

Classical and unhurried. Deep serif names, gold hairlines, an ivory page that feels engraved.

    • Ivory & gold
    • Sage
    • Blush
    • Midnight
    • Rosewood
    • Slate
    • Champagne
  • Noctura

    Modern

Cinematic and after-dark. A full-bleed image, wide-tracked type, and one colour of light.

    • Obsidian
    • Ember
    • Ultraviolet
    • Verdant
    • Crimson
    • Arctic
  • Bloom

    Soft

Warm and open. Arched photographs, a handwritten line, and plenty of air around everything.

    • Meadow
    • Apricot
    • Powder
    • Blossom
    • Sage Green
    • Terracotta

How it works

Three steps, about twenty minutes.

  1. 01

    Choose how it should feel

Pick the event, then the template. Each one is art-directed with its own palettes — you are choosing between finished designs, not assembling one.

  2. 02

    Fill in the evening

Names, date, place, the run of the day, a few photographs. Everything you type appears in the invitation itself as you type it.

  3. 03

    Send one link

Publish and you have a web page at its own address. Send it however you send anything. Replies come back to one screen.

What you can count on.

  • Unlisted by default

Reachable by link, kept out of search, absent from our sitemap — unless you decide the event is public.

  • No account for guests

Opening the invitation and replying to it both work with no sign-in of any kind.

  • Arabic and English

Set right-to-left properly, in a real Arabic face — or carry both readings at once.

  • Works on any phone

A web page, not an app. It opens in whatever browser your guests already have.

Questions

Before you start.

Do guests need an account to open or reply to an invitation?

No. An invitation is a public web page at its own link. Anyone with the link can open it, read every detail, add the event to their calendar and send a reply — with no account, no app and no sign-in at any point.

Are invitations private?

By default an invitation is unlisted: reachable by its link, marked noindex so search engines do not list it, and absent from our sitemap. Nothing about your account, your world or anyone else’s replies is readable from the page. You can opt a genuinely public event into being listed, and only then does it become indexable.

Can I change an invitation after I have sent the link?

Yes. Edit it and publish again — the link does not change and guests see the current version next time they open it. If you change the link itself, the old one stays reserved and tells anyone who follows it that the invitation has moved rather than showing them nothing.

What does it cost?

Nothing. Creating, publishing and sharing an invitation is free, and so is replying to one.

Can I take an invitation down?

At any time. Unpublishing replaces the page with a short note that the invitation has closed, and keeps the link reserved so nobody else can take a URL you have already printed or sent.
